About Our Discovery
Meals & Melodies was founded by a group of musically involved students who noticed many members in their community that suffered a lack of food and entertainment. These students set out to solve both problems at once through food and music.
Our Mission
Meals & Melodies is a 501(c)(3) registered youth-led nonprofit organization that takes a unique perspective on relieving the underprivileged by improving food insecurity while also providing access to musical opportunities. Through meal donations, musical performances, and partnerships, we aim to continuously aid various shelters.

Hi, I'm Dev Patel, the president and founder of Meals & Melodies. As a dedicated music student involved in many choirs such as the New Jersey Youth Chorus and Bridgewater Symphonic Choir, I realized the potential of how the music industry can help people. I decided to utilize this potential by helping people with the intersection of music and relief for food insecurity. As the president, I oversee the structure of the nonprofit as a whole and strive to improve aspects of operations.
Hello, I'm Kaavya, the vice-president of Meals & Melodies. I am an aspiring medical student aiming to assist humanity through medicine and humanitarian support. Through my hours of volunteering at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Jersey and research on food insecurity, I have observed how significantly various shelters are in need of assistance. Combining this with my passion for dance and music, I chose to fill the roles of a vice-president to help people the best I can.
Hello, I'm Jiya, the co-vice-president of Meals & Melodies. With my extensive volunteering and shadowing at St. Joseph's Wayne Medical Center in Wayne, New Jersey, I have learned about the struggles throughout humanity. After further research, I became interested in food insecurity and decided to help run Meals & Melodies. As a professional piano player that learned through years of practice at Bridgewater School of Music, New Jersey, I also became devoted to share my love of music with the underprivileged.
